We decided to spend a night at Tides, taking a friend who had been in hospital with us. The booking was extended to two nights, then three, and we are so glad that we did this. Cob Cottage was an excellent choice, situated towards the edge of the property, so quiet and peaceful, with just the waterfowl to listen to. No television is provided, which makes it even more special. The cottage is extremely comfortable, and equipped with everything one needs for a self cateing visit. We always take our safari box with us when we travel, but really did not need to this time. The downstairs living area is spacious and opens out on to a patio with a built in braai and a bench for warm evenings. We were impressed to see that the braai had already been cleaned up the morning after we used it. Andre, his wife Maggie and smiling Malawian staff keep the whole place immaculate, the vast lawns are such a pleasure to walk on, to wander over and sit on a bench to watch the river and absorb the tranquility of the surroundings. We would wholeheartedly recommend Tides for a visit, be it short or long. You will be glad that you did, and come away with the same feelings that we did. Thank you Andre, Maggie and staff – not forgetting Milo and Monte, your friendly dogs.
